1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply when you use the MurderXFile website, create or use an account, or purchase and access a MurderXFile digital investigation. By using the service, you agree to follow these terms. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping access to your sign-in method secure and using your account lawfully. Case access is linked to the MurderXFile account used for the purchase and is intended for the account holder’s personal use.

3. Purchases and access

Prices are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. A purchase grants access to the identified digital investigation; it does not transfer ownership of MurderXFile content. Access is normally added automatically after payment confirmation. If confirmation is delayed or an access problem occurs, contact MurderXFile support.

4. Digital-content cancellation and refunds

Rules on cancellation and refunds depend on applicable consumer law and whether digital content has begun to be supplied. Where you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that starting supply causes you to lose an applicable cancellation right, access may begin immediately. The Refund Policy forms part of these terms and explains how to report purchase or access problems.

5. Personal-use licence

Unless MurderXFile expressly agrees otherwise, purchased investigations are licensed for private, non-commercial play. You must not copy, reproduce, resell, redistribute, publish, upload, commercially exploit or make the investigation materials available to others, except to the limited extent permitted by law.

6. Fair use and security

You must not attempt to bypass payment or access controls, obtain protected case files through unauthorised means, probe or disrupt the service, interfere with another user’s account, automate abusive requests, or use MurderXFile systems for unlawful activity.

7. Intellectual property

MurderXFile branding, stories, case concepts, text, artwork, evidence materials, software and other original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Except for the personal-use licence described above, no rights in that content are transferred to you.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep purchased investigations available and working, but maintenance, security work, third-party outages or technical faults may occasionally affect access. We may make reasonable technical, security or presentation changes to the service, provided they do not unlawfully reduce your rights in purchased digital content.

9. Results and fictional content

MurderXFile investigations are fictional entertainment products. Detective scores, ranks and case outcomes are game features and are not professional assessments of the player.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, MurderXFile is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made, or for losses arising from unlawful or unauthorised use of the service. Consumer rights and remedies for faulty digital content remain unaffected.

11. Ending or restricting access

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, suspected fraud, serious misuse or a material breach of these terms. We will not use this clause to remove statutory rights relating to a valid purchase.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If you are a consumer, nothing in this clause removes rights you may have to bring proceedings in a court that applicable law makes available to you.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to MurderXFile, the law, security requirements or service providers. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights you already have under a completed purchase.
